For many years, René has  used his status as a “celebrity” to call attention to organizations such as Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières and Heifer International and the life-saving, life-changing work they do to help people in need around the world. He is deeply appreciative of the many, many fans who have contributed money through their purchase of autographed photos and other items at conventions, silent auctions, and special events, or who have made personal donations to other international, national, or local charitable groups in his honor.
