René has been cast in the upcoming independent film Cortex – he expects to spend about three weeks working on this project in late February and early March in New York City.
According to online sources, René’s guest appearance on Madame Secretary in the episode “Left of the Boom” should air on Sunday, February 14. Check your local listings to confirm the time and channel in your area.
Writer-director Kelly Reichardt’s film Certain Women was well received at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, and René’s performance as “Albert” prompted positive reviews:
“Reichardt’s “Certain Women” stars the powerhouse trio of Laura Dern, Kristen Stewart and Michelle Williams, a virtuosic Rene Auberjonois and a radiant Lily Gladstone.” –Los Angeles Times
“…all the performances are rock-solid, with all the players making the most of the writer-director’s gifts at silence and suggestion. Dern has been cornering the market on beatific moms lately, so it’s a treat to watch her play an intelligent, unsatisfied, exasperated woman, and seeing the legendary Auberjonois on the prairie immediately calls to mind his supporting role in the Robert Altman classic McCabe & Mrs. Miller.” –The Wrap
Thanks to everyone who enthusiastically supported René’s first experiment with doing an auction via his Twitter account and this website! Generous fans pledged over $250 to support the humanitarian aid organization Doctors Without Borders.

When René filmed his role in this film, it was known only as “Untitled Kelly Reichardt Project”. Now it has appeared at number 12 on The Guardian‘s list of “The 75 films we’re most excited about in 2016” with the title Certain Women. As soon as we hear details of when and where it will be released, we’ll post that information here.
