LIVE from NY Public Library Nov. 29

On Tuesday, November 29, René will be reading selections from Tom Wolfe’s The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test in a program at the New York Public Library. And here’s the good news for those who can’t attend in person: the event will be live streamed!

The program begins at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time – more details and a link to the live stream can be found on the LIVE from NYPL website.

Selected Shorts November 3 and 19

René performed on two Selected Shorts programs this November.

The first was on November 3 at the Williams Center for the Arts, Lafayette College, Easton, PA, where René read “The Deep,” by Anthony Doerr on a program titled. “Uncharted Territories”.

Then, on November 19, René read “The King of the Elves” by Phillip K. Dick in the program “Modern Fairy Tales” at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Symphony Space and Madame Secretary

René has been invited to reprise his role as “Walter Nowak” in another episode of Madame Secretary, which will begin filming during the last week of March.

The following week, René will be reading the story “Tobermory” for Selected Shorts at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space in New York City on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available: full details here.

Selected Shorts, March 19

For those within traveling distance of Los Angeles, René will be one of the readers at “a weekend of live performances of stories exploring darkness and light” at the Getty Museum. Updated links: Conventions this Fall

René has been invited to three conventions this fall – one that was originally scheduled for London is now taking place in Brighton. Here are the updated links for these Showmasters Film & Comic Cons:

DragonCon off René’s schedule

René began feeling under the weather a few days before DragonCon, and therefore had to cancel his appearance there over Labor Day weekend. He extends his regrets and disappointment at not being able to be there in 2015.

DragonCon and Belfast!

René has added two more conventions to his list of public appearances for this autumn:

• DragonCon – September 4-7, Atlanta, Georgia
• Film & Comic Con – 31 October-1 November, Belfast, Ireland

DragonCon prides itself on being “the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction & fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the universe!” Events take place in several hotels – the last time René attended, he spent much of his time at the “Walk of Fame” room signing autographs, but also participated in several panels throughout the weekend.

Film & Comic Con Belfast will host a number of guests from film and television, with autograph sessions, photo ops, panels, and an extensive collection of dealers selling all sorts of collectibles and memorabilia.

Crimson Shore, November 10

During the first week of August, René recorded the audiobook version of the latest Pendergast novel by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Crimson Shore is scheduled to be released on November 10, 2015 – mark your calendar, or preorder now!
