Raising Buchanan – including René in particular – received a nice review after its premiere in Phoenix in April (2019):
“Playing the title role of James Buchanan is the always magnificent and award winning actor Rene Auberjonois. This actor has an amazing chameleon like talent with the variety of roles he has played throughout his career, and his commitment to this part is no less dedicated.”
The film can be seen next on May 3 at the Manhattan Film Festival (2019).
The film Windows on the World is having its premiere at the Sedona Film Festival, February 23 through March 3, 2019..
As described in this review: ” WINDOWS ON THE WORLD is a film that plays well on the multiple and nuanced meanings of its title (the famed restaurant on the World Trade Center’s 107th floor where Balthazar worked; the 43,600 windows of the Twin Towers, behind each pane of which stories were unfolding only to perish; the window cleaning job that was a portal for the next phase of Fernando’s journey). “
We completed another of our eBay auctions of photos and memorabilia from René’s storeroom, for the purpose of raising money for the life-saving work of Médecin San Frontières/Doctors Without Borders.
Fans purchased 10 of the 13 items we posted in this round, raising close to $600 for MSF/DWB.
René enjoyed an amazing weekend October 19-21, 2018 at Destination Star Trek in Birmingham, United Kingdom. He drew over 250 of his Odo’s Bucket cartoons for generous fans who donated thousands of euros to support the worldwide, life-saving work of Médecin San Frontières/Doctors Without Borders!
An overall review of the convention has been posted on the StarTrek.com website. Enjoy!
For those in the Aspen, CO area, you have a chance to hear René perform a live reading for the series Selected Shorts at the Aspen Ideas Festival. René is scheduled to read “In Paris” by Ivan Bunin on Sunday, June 24.
In honor of René’s upcoming June 1 birthday, and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the premiere of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, in late April we ran an eBay auction of an assortment of collectibles, some from René’s personal collection and others donated by fans, all to support the life-saving work of Médecin San Frontières/Doctors Without Borders.
Thanks to René’s generous fans, we raised over $600 for MSF/DWB with this auction. We truly appreciate all of you who participated!
